1 John 2:1

1 John 2 : 1-2

" MY Little Children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."
Chapter1 said: starts with John writing these things so that "our joy may be made complete" and goes on to share: Who God is: "God is Light", then talks about how we can have a relationship with God through His Son, and that if we walk in the light we will have fellowship with God, through Christ Jesus and with one another.
Chapter 2 starts with this statement: "I am writing these things to you that you may not sin"- Then says but if you do sin- we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and that he is the propitiation for our sins; but not only ours but for the the whole world.
Ladies, In the very first 2 verses there is an amazing message!

*I am writing these things to you THAT YOU MAY NOT SIN

*If anyone sins we have an ADVOCATE with the Father,
*Jesus Christ the RIGHTEOUS
*He himself is the PROPITIATION for our sins
*Not just for ourselves but for those of the WHOLE WORLD

John is writing, ‘ so that we may not sin’. And that if we do sin, which we found out in chapter 1 – is a fact that we will, because Romans 3:10 says “there is none righteous no not one.” So we all are unrighteous, ‘for all have sinned and all have fallen short of the Glory of God’ (Romans 3:23) and that ladies is a fact. However, there is hope!

John writes in hope that we would not sin but he goes on to say: “and if anyone sins we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;”

Have you ever had an Advocate? A defender , a witness! Here in the text it is talking about having an advocate that stands between us and God to speak on our behalf, to defend us to God. What a wonderful thing! Personally, I find such comfort in that and to know that this one Jesus Christ is Righteous.
“1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator ( advocate) also between God and Men, the man Christ Jesus”.

It was Jesus who died on the cross on our behalf as a “propitiation for our sins”.
Romans 3:23-25 says, “ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; Whom God displayed publicly as a Propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;”
What an amazing gift! – Not that it is just for me or you but for the Whole World!

Ladies,
Today I hope you are thinking about your relationship with Jesus. I hope you are being sober about what it truly looks like. How are you walking? Are you walking at the edge of the light? Are you walking fully in the light? Are you walking in Darkness? Where are you? What would Jesus be saying on your behalf to our Creator, God?

Lord, I pray for myself first and then for the ladies who desire to walk with you Lord. I pray that I/we would be fully aware of how we are living and that we would desire to not sin and that we would truly be light as you are. Lord I thank you that you forgive us when we sin and do wrong. I thank you for the gift you gave on the cross that you died for me and the world.
Lord I pray for the those who have yet to hear about you who are lost. I pray Lord for You to make Yourself known to individuals around me. Lord, allow me to be Your Light where ever I go.
I pray these things in Your Name,
The Name of Jesus!
Amen
