1 John 2: 4-6

1 John 2 :3-6

“And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.
By this we know that we are in Him; The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”

For Christmas Dwayne ( my husband) received a gift. It was a movie from India. The name is Khabi, khushi , Khabie, ghamin English it is Through smiles and sorrow….. The movie was over 3 hours long and full of song and dance, crying and laughter. The main story is of this family who adopted a child, a young boy and they loved him and accepted him as their very own. As He grows up his father brings him in to his office and as he looks at his own Fathers picture ,his son’s grandfather’s picture, he shares what it is to be a man and a member of the family. When the son falls in love, he falls in love with a beautiful woman who is of a lower cast and his father brings up that conversation they had in the office. By this one act of falling in love with this young woman he has shown who he truly is, the father gives him one chance to change and do what is Honorable to the father, to the family but the son doesn’t. The final word from the Father was these words, “ Today, my son has shown he is not of my blood, not of my house, not of my family”

This is what I think of when we walk in the light we shine forth and all know who we are it is not something to mistake for darkness, how could it be? The word says “ in Him there is no darkness at all.” In John 2: 3-6 the question is how we can know if we Know Him. It says, "if we keep His commandments." Then the Word says, “ whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.”
Now ladies, this is very important for what comes ahead in the this very same chapter. Then he says, “ by this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”

I know movies aren’t true to life but they to mimic life. I could just imagine that movie I watched and the roles are reversed, the Father being My savior, the son being Myself. Being faced with what it means to be in the Family of God and what kind of life it requires of me to live. To follow and walk in the same manner as my Father in Heaven is necessary for all to know I am of His family!

Oh~ Ladies, that we might all strive to walk in the Light, abide in the Word so that it is alive in us and living through us~ that the World might know WHO’s we are, and that we might live in peace and love with one another.

Today as you go about your day, I pray that you will be made aware of who’s you are. May you be alert to what you say, how you act towards outsiders, but more importantly how you treat your brothers and sisters in Christ. May we begin the day, in fellowship with Christ and end the day the same way!

Walk in Him!
