Philippians 1:9-11 " And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righeousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."
Philippians 2:3-5 " Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped."
today, I have just taken some time to reflect on what I've been studying. I don't know about you but it is so important that we don't just read the word and study but that we really allow it to change us. For that to happen one has to ponder and reflect on it and then the Holy Spirit can begin to show us areas in our life that are not in step with our Heavenly Fathers. We need to be on our faces praying for change and humbling ourselves to our Creater and present our selves as Living Sacrifices.....
Lord, today I just pray that you would begin to really show me what areas are not instep with yours. I pray that as I go about my day that I would be reminded of the words in Philippians and that I would be convicted to change my ways. Lord I do humble myself to you and ask that you begin to prune my life so that it is a reflection of You!
It is in Your name I pray,
The Name of Jesus,
Amen....................

The Phil. 1 verse really struck a chord in me. Love is not independent from knowledge. In fact, it says love and "real" knowledge go hand in hand. Maybe that's why people get so vicious in a debate. People wantt he knowledge (I'm right) without the love (you're wrong).
Good word! - Just as you have said, we really need to want GOD's knowledge which then is being directed by HIS LOVE, not our own which is driven by the FLESH and we all know what kind of LOVE that is....
I'm fleshing this out more.... There is so much more than just one topic in this book. I just hate that we sum books up by one topic! Just yesterday I was talking with a friend and she asked me what are you studing and I said, Philippians and her response was oh that's a good book when you need to learn how to be content in your circumstances and in dealing with our purpose. I thought yes but it has so much more to say about godly living and it speaks so much more on our responsibility as a believer and how we ought to work on our relationships in the church. I mean each chapter of Phil. Paul takes time to address "relationships and their direct impact on us in our own situations"....
Oh, there is so much to digest! :)
