Got Milk?

1 Peter 1:22- 2:3

“ Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart.
For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God.
For, ‘All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord abides forever.’ And this is the word which was preached to you.
Therefore, putting aside all malice, and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. If you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.”

My immediate reaction was how true! Cookies with milk is good! But then my smile faded and I got the punch line.

Just when things seem like there moving forward, the days seem fulfilled with goodness there seems to come a dark cloud. Why is that? Oh, some say it’s the enemy but I would dare say most of the time it is the FLESH! Something that we all struggle with and even I felt it well up with in me when I received a comment on the blog.

To whom it may concern: Thank You~ I sincerely mean it. I finished my movie with my daughter and thought Okay, Lord~ let’s talk. Because I do take my blog very seriously and I long to be used, in however, small way it may seem to some, to encourage, build up, and love those who desire to grow in the word. I don’t expect everyone to understand and I also expect some poor feedback from those who may not have faith in Jesus Christ.
However, I assume who ever you are that you are familiar with the word of God as you made certain to make a pun out of Milk.

I take everything to heart ☺ some would say a weakness, but it isn’t because I listen and reflect to see if I need to hear anything that is being shared. And as always, I did. I began with a prayer to my Father, and this is the word He gave me. It started in 1 Peter 1:22 – 2:3 as I wrote it out it just affirmed we all have to start somewhere. But then as I prayed, and continued to read more and I was taken back a few verses. I guess the Lord knows me well ☺ and He felt I needed a reminder of what is expected of His children or maybe we both do.

“ So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the special blessings that will come to you at the return of Jesus Christ. Obey God because you are His children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God- who chose you to be His children – is holy. For He himself has said, ‘ You must be holy because I am holy.’ “
1 Peter 1:13-16

oh, the whole chapter is full of Meat!
Tonight as I sit on my couch and hear the crickets and wind blowing, I just thank the Lord that I am secure in who I am, A child of the King! I am not the best of teachers, actually I would say on the contrary. However, I am trying to be obedient to the things that Father has called me too. And if tonight as I close out the day with a prayer to say Thank You Lord, for allowing me yet another day to serve, another day to live, then I close my eyes knowing I can truly have confidence to face my Savior. I know I’ve done all I can to serve my Lord and Savior and dear sisters or brothers. I rest securely in that! And best of all ☺ I didn’t let the flesh win out. Oh Victory!

Lord, thank you for this day thank you for reminding me that I need to hold my tongue, put the flesh in its proper place and trust in You to see and hear all things. Thank you for Your Word how it is Milk and Meat to us as believers. And Lord, I pray for the one who wrote the comment. I don’t know their heart nor can I assume their intentions. I rest in You Lord knowing that You know the hearts of all men, that you see their intentions and their deeds. May we all strife to be Holy as You are Lord. May we all exhibit Your Love and Life!

It is in your name I pray,
The precious Name of Jesus!
Amen……….
Sweet dreams
