Have you ever felt that everyone who was under your spiritual authority was becoming arrogant and that they were beginning to think themselves more wise than they ought? Paul was faced with this very situation. It isn't that Paul wanted control or that he was trying to lord over those he was teaching and leading to spiritual maturity. But rather, he was trying to teach them to become humble as they grew in their relationship with the Lord. To not think more highly of themselves than they ought.
I find that in any position of Leadership it can become difficult to keep this attitude of servanthood and humility in check if we are focused only on the task rather than the people.
Lord, as we read Your word and meditate on it, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will convict us of any pride, arrogance, judgemental attitudes toward their leadership, or jealousy. Lord, I confess I have had a judgemental attitude and I confess my frustration and lack of trust in those who lead me. I know you are faithful! I pray that today Lord Jesus you would show yourself Faithful to forgive us all and to grow us to become more loving, humble, meek , forgiving and giving to those who serve us. And may we inturn teach others to grow also in these areas of their lives.
" Let man reguard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God, in this case, moreover, it is required of stewards to be found trustworthy."
Lord this is my prayer for the ladies that they would be able to live out this in their life today!
