Ladies, this week has been just another crazy week! I have really enjoyed reading 1 Corinthians and today is no exception. The challenges abound and the need to press toward the mark is ever present in my life as I’m sure it is in yours. I hope you have had a good week and now that it is Friday you can finish well!
1 Corinthians 10
Paul takes some time to look at the past events of Israel and makes a very big point in saying, let us learn from their mistakes.
These were all areas that cost many their lives, for some they wondered the in the wilderness……
1 Corinthians 10:1-13
- Idolatry
- Should not crave evil things
- Acts of immorality
- Trying the Lord
- Grumbling
This chapter has some very big issues that Paul was working through and in the time I have to write and this space J I really can’t speak to the whole chapter. I do hope you will read it through its entirety. The whole picture is very important and we should be careful not to just pick a verse here or there! So I share this having read the whole and understand what it is Paul was trying to communicate to the Church of Corinth.
For me though Today this passage really stood out to me. How often do we know the past of our fellow believers and yet we seem to somehow fall into the same patterns as they lived. My prayer for Today is to think about these areas and to work on being different than that past generations!
Lord I pray that as we start our day today that we would be changed from the reading of Your Word! I pray that we would clear out any thing in our lives that is taking Your Place! I pray for us all that we would not crave evil things. I pray Lord that you would keep us from Temptation. Lord, forgive us when we do try You and Lord, I pray today would be the day we trust you instead of Try you! Lord help us to learn to be thankful in every situation and to see the blessings even when things seem bad! Lord, help us not be ungrateful for all You’ve done for us. I pray for opportunities to share the Hope we have in You Lord!
Thank you for taking such good care of us and walking with us through this life.
WE love You Lord!
In Christ name I pray!
Amen………………………
