Esther

This past week I've been studying in Esther. I'm almost fully finished with the books in the Old Testament. It's been so rich and has really caused me to want to learn more of the history of that time. I can not help but be in awe of how the Bible was written with the hands of many but inspired by one. It really is just an amazing book to study!

So I've finished Esther and there have been some key points that are worthy of noting.

Chapters 1 -2 is all about Queen Vashti and her lack of respect for the King. It caused him to look bad infront of his party and caused the princes of the land to become concerned that their women would hear of her disrespect and then do like wise to them.

I was reminded of some new testament passages and I couldn't help but think how both King Ahasuerus and Queen Vashti were honoring one another there would have never been a problem.

Eph. 5:22 " Wives be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord."
5:25 " Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her."

Eph. 6:5-10 Is all about Slaves and Masters and how they are to interact with one another but in the closing statement- verse 10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might."

this week it was just a reminder to me how my actions to reflect on my husband and that I should consider that before I speak, before I react.

I realize that during this time it was necessary for Queen Vashti to be removed inorder for the God to work for the good of His people but never the less it is still a very good reminder to us all as couples to be mindful of how we ought to be towards our spouses.

As you go about your day- think about how you can serve your spouse and how you can express your love and devotion to him or her without using words but rather through your actions.

Blessings!
