" You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil , speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man out of his good treasure brings forth what is good; and the evil what is evil. And I say to you, that every careless word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgement.
for by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."
Matt.12:34-37
I haven't been sleeping too well these days not because of any real reason just living life sometimes things /schedules get interrupted. Today was another one of those days. I woke up thinking what kind of day will today be?
As you know I just did a devotional on Judging and pointing the finger and as I opened my bible the Lord directed me to Matt. 12. it is just continuing the thought of how we as believers are called to a much higher way of living. Not that we ought to be high and mighty, No! But that we ought to weigh our words carefully and that also goes for weighing what others say. It would help us so much in knowing how we ought to respond.
I've always said that whatever a person speaks comes from the heart. I just remember when I realized what I was thinking and processing an event that occured with my Husband and the Holy Spirit took me to the word that day - my reading was in Matt. I was so convicted and I realized that my heart wasn't right if I could think these things even though I hadn't spoken them I was still thinking them. Just think about the one who allows awful things out of their mouth. I've definately been one to allow what I was thinking out of my lips. It is inevitable that what ever is in our heart will be found out either by our words or our actions.
Prov. 10: 32:
" The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverted."
Ladies, today my prayer is that we will all look at the root of our behavior. As you start your day my prayer is that God would reveal to you roots that have no place in HIS GARDEN.
Lord, reveal the weeds in our lives. Show us the things we need to clean out and replace with Your righteousness. Let the words we say be uplifting and building up not distructive or hurtful. I pray that for myself especially I would GUARD every thought and take every thought captive to not even allow ungodly thinking. Lord, thank you again for how Your word changes us....
May we speak that which is from our heart and may it be first true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute and be praise. Oh that what we speak Lord would be of YOUR righteousness.
It is in Your name I pray
The Name of Jesus
Amen...............

How guilty of this am I???? If it crossed my mind it had a tendancy to leap straight from my mouth without ever a thought. I have been praying and working on this for years - have gone as far as to post scripture different places to remind me (love Eph 4:29 for this one and look at as much as i can to remind me).
Thank you for this word in season!
love you mel!
