Philippians 1:12-30

As I read this chapter again today I am struck by Pauls message to the exsisting church, to the body of believers.

" Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel," Phil.1:12

He understood that even his imprisonment was for the benefit of the Gospel. I have often times thought about this but even more so this week. Obviously because of the realization that when crisis hits our life it is really a time for God to show Himself in our lives.

I know for the most part there have been situations in my life where I had a choice to feel sorry for myself or to stand firm and to ask the question, "what do you have for me to share in this situation?" I can't say that I have always asked the right question in a time of crisis. However when I have it is clear that there was someone who needed to hear the hope we have in Christ.

Today that is what stands out to me ; Pauls attitude and service in the midst of difficult situations. He learned how to ask the right questions of his Savior and to look at every circumstance as an opportunity to share the hope he had in Christ.

Can you think back to situations in your life when you asked the right question. And as a result someone heard about the Hope that is in Christ.

"For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake," Phil. 1:29

Lord, help us all to stand firm in the midst of the good days and the bad. Help us to realize that we aren't promised a life without suffering but rather we are guaranteed a life with suffering. Lord help us to stand firm and to proclaim the truth of your Salvation to those who have yet to hear. Help us to be immovable and unwaivering in our devotion to you. In Life or Death may You be Glorified. We love you Lord and nothing is of more value to us than You!

May we serve you in every situation, in every circumstance....

May those who see us in need, and want, in suffering and good health praise your holy name!

It is in your name I pray
The Name of Jesus
Amen............
