1 Corinthians 13- Wednesday
I have to say every time I read this chapter I am reminded yet again how much I need to abide in Christ. How important it is that I imitate my Lord and Savior. I am also reminded how there are still areas of my life where I still fall short. I think it keeps us all humble, don’t you?
Today the verse out of Chapter 13 that spoke to me was verse 1.
“ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
This verse really starts this chapter off putting me in my place. How often in a day do I sound like a clanging cymbal or noisy gong. If you were to speak to my kids it would probably be daily. If it were my husband, he might say way more often than he would like. Especially these days!
I love how the Lord uses His word to gently remind me of my need for HIM.
Lord, I pray for each of the ladies that as they start their day and as they study your word they would be changed. I pray for a true desire to want change. Lord, I pray for myself. I have desired change but I’ve not been broken over my sin and my lack of love. I pray lord that I would have a brokenness over my noisy gong and clanging cymbal. Lord, may I love with your love.
“ but now faith, hope, love , abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
Helps us all to abide in these and to produce the fruit that is truly of You Lord!
Amen!
